Cato Environmental Services
Announcements Cato Environmental Services is the contractor the County hired last July 2009 to perform the irrigation evaluations on our customers residential homes. The evaluation consists of: Education on the timer/clock and how to use it and set it within Seminole County water restrictions. Also, they will turn each of the zones on separately and determine the inefficiencies or other issues with each zone. Cato is also very experienced in different types of grasses, shrubs, trees and plants and will be able to make recommendations to the homeowners on how much water is needed to irrigate each appropriately to sustain the plant materials.

During the evaluation Cato’s will also check the residence for a working rain sensor (device that over rides an irrigation system once adequate rainfall has occurred). If the rain sensor currently at the home is not working properly a new rain sensor will be installed. Approximately 10 days after the evaluation a written report will be mailed to the customer of the findings. But, by all means the customer is welcome to join Mr. Cato as he surveys each irrigation zone and makes his findings.

This service is FREE to all Seminole County Environmental Services customers. The irrigation evaluation program is a check up for the irrigation system, and in part educational. Mr. Cato is very knowledgeable of irrigation systems and should be able to assist the homeowner with any questions that may arise concerning the homeowners irrigation system and even some landscaping questions.

In order to be scheduled for a FREE irrigation evaluation, the homeowner needs to either go on line and fill out the online web request for an irrigation evaluation at: http://www.seminolecountyfl.gov/envsrvs/watercon/index.asp

Or call me at 407-665-2121 to sign up.

With budget constraints being what they are in Seminole County Government, we are not sure how much longer the program will be in place. I suggest anyone who hasn’t had an irrigation evaluation to take advantage of the program while we still have it funded this year and most likely next year.

If I may be of any further service, please don’t hesitate to call me at 407-665-2121 or email me at: dmeinert@seminolecountyfl.gov

P.S. Our new Reclaimed Water Brochures are been printed right now. I will forward you a scanned copy of one as soon as I receive them in. Additionally, all reclaimed water customers will receive one in the mail in a few weeks.

Respectfully,
Debra K. Meinert
Water Conservation Coordinator

Heathrow Lakes Neighborhood Elections
Announcements

August 9, 2010

Dear Heathrow Lakes Homeowner:

The Heathrow Lakes Maintenance Association annual Neighborhood Committee Elections Meeting has been scheduled for Monday, September 27, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. (registration begins at 5:30 p.m.) at Sawyer Lake Park, 1001 Heathrow Blvd., Heathrow, Florida 32746. All homeowners are invited; we hope you can attend. Come join your neighbors, socialize, and vote for members of your Neighborhood Committee. The meeting typically lasts less than 1 hour.

However, in the event you will be unable to attend, YOUR NEIGHBORHOOD NEEDS YOUR VOTE to establish a quorum. Please fill out the enclosed proxy and return it in the proxy return envelope. Assign your voting rights to a neighbor who will be at the meeting, your current neighborhood chairperson, or other designee (e.g. a member of the HLMA Board). If you leave the designation blank it will be voted by your current neighborhood chairperson. You may also obtain these forms from the Heathrow website (www.heathrowcommunity.com) and you may email your completed proxy (and/or application) to heathrowlakes@csbonline.net or fax to 407-333-4166. If you receive an electronic proxy/application from your Neighborhood Chair you may return it by email to Nancy Seward at heathrowlakes@csbonline.net.

You are voting for five (5) members of your neighborhood to serve a one (1) year term on your Neighborhood Committee. The Neighborhood Committee is important. It elects your Neighborhood Chairperson who votes on behalf of all homeowners in your neighborhood in the annual elections of the Heathrow Master Board of Directors and the Heathrow Lakes Board of Directors. The Neighborhood Chair also represents the neighborhood as a member of the Town Advisory Council (TAC), which provides input from homeowners to the Master Board regarding the Association’s management of the Heathrow property and other matters of general interest to the Homeowners. The Neighborhood Committee also acts in an advisory capacity to the Heathrow Lakes Board and performs other functions as may be assigned by the Board (See the Chairperson Manual in the Heathrow Lakes portion of the Documents on heathrowcommunity.com).

Each neighborhood needs thirty percent (30%) of the homeowners (one vote per home) entitled to vote for a quorum. If a quorum is not obtained, the meeting must be rescheduled to a new date and time hoping a quorum is obtained. If, after two tries, a Neighborhood Committee is not properly elected, the Heathrow Lakes Board has to appoint five committee members.

If you wish to be considered as a candidate for election to your Neighborhood Committee, please complete the enclosed application and return it to Nancy Seward by 5:00 p.m. on September 24, 2010 in the self-addressed, stamped envelope. Your application will be included as an attachment to the voting ballot the night of the meeting. Nominations will also be accepted from the floor as required by FL State Statute 720.

We urge you to assign your proxy if you cannot attend.

Sincerely,
THE HEATHROW LAKES MAINTENANCE ASSOCIATION BOARD OF DIRECTORS
